FoxFi, an app used by grandfathered Verizon unlimited wireless users to tether devices, has mysteriously stopped working. It can not be predicted. The second would say hotspot is active, and click to configure settings this one had a white wifi icon. I uninstalled fox fipdaNet+ and fox fi Key rebooted several times. When computer tries to connect I get a blue screen and it shuts down. Currently the best app I've found to do anything remotely like this is the Airplane Mode Wi-Fi app, which is a manual switch and a slightly cumbersome one at that, not nearly good enough for how often I go in and out of wifi. How can I tell if my phone is connected at 802.
In the past, my updates have installed automatically without any approval required. The pull down menu is also hard to pull down then is real jerky when it does pull down. Beings it's not a carrier branded phone they can't put their block in the firmware that require you to have a hotspot data plan. I dried it and everything was working fine. Dunno about other models other than the Nexus 6 on which it doesn't work, but that's lollipop 5.

I think FoxFi must have screwed something up. I tryd puttin the sd card on the computer and it doesnt even give me a signal that i inserted the card. Here's the deal: Windows 10 somehow cannot process Wifi Access Point Name name of the Wifi if this is the correct term with a space in it. It only happens to some users but what triggers that is still unknown to us. I will probably spring for the paid version of Connectify as it seems to do everything it claims. Laptop shows Wi-Fi connection but says limited connectivi? I need to route the request off of the Verizon network somehow. Start Foxfi and accept the vpn security thing. If they find they no longer want your money they'll simply stop serving you. I use an iPhone and I tether my laptop all the time back when Windows 8 was used.
